The National Apostolic Deaf Ministries is a community that seeks to promote the Faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, among the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This ministry holds annual conferences, workshop, and summer camps for these individuals.
Facts about the Deaf Community:
• About 2 to 4 of every 1,000 people in the United States are functionally Deaf
• 90% of Deaf children are born to hearing parents
• Even the most experienced and skilled lip readers can only understand about 30% of English speech
NADM IN OUR CHURCHES
What if you could not hear a sound? What if your family and friends could not communicate with you? What if you had no one to communicate at church? This is the reality for many of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH) Brothers and Sisters.
But now, the church is breaking through those communication barriers, enabling us to reach the Deaf and Hard Of Hearing Communities with the Gospel!!
The Deaf/HOH community is proud to have their own language, American Sign Language, and desire to see the hearing world learn it so there is more access in our churches. This ministry helps connect our Deaf/HOH members with churches that provide ASL.
GET INVOLVED
How can you be a part of this dynamic and growing ministry?
1. Learn ASL- go to your local Community College and begin to learn this beautiful language. Watch YouTube videos and tutorials.
2. Build a relationship with the Deaf/HOH community. Don't be intimidated to sign with a Deaf/HOH, they love to see people learn their language!
3. Spread the word! If you have family and friends who are part of the Deaf/HOH community, let them know about us!
4. Contact us for resources and help with starting a Deaf/HOH ministry in your local church.
5. Pray for a harvest of a Deaf/HOH souls! It is our ultimate goal to reach this community with the Gospel!
The NADM provides ASL Interpreters at all National Conventions. If you need an Interpreter for an event please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.
